Red carpet experts Badgley Mischka have designed a special capsule collection for Le Tote marrying their best-selling silhouettes with exclusive LT prints. A Q&A with Mark Badgley and James Mischka:
The label is almost 30 years old — does it feel like yesterday or forever?
It feels like yesterday that we saw dresses from our first collection in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman! It’s amazing to us how far the brand has come since then.
Looking back, what do you think did right in the early years?
We always stuck to our vision and aesthetic for the brand and never succumbed to trends.
What’s your fashion philosophy?
Always stay true to what you believe in.
Do you both agree on most things? What’s the work synergy like?
Believe it or not, we do agree on most things! We work very well together but it’s also nice for us to be in separate places, working on different things for the brand at the same time.
Who is the Badgley Mischka muse?
A woman who wants to feel glamorous and beautiful in all aspects of her life. She respects Old Hollywood but has a modern edge.
What’s your favorite get-glamorous trick?
The fit! Make sure your look fits flawlessly.
What’s the summer 2017 moodboard?
For spring summer we are loving the combination of bold color and volume.
What inspired the Le Tote capsule collection?
Our designs were created exclusively for Le Tote and inspired by the lifestyle of today’s modern woman.
What made you partner with Le Tote?
We have watched the industry change repeatedly, so we constantly adapting our business to reflect the market. Innovative retailers such as Le Tote are redefining the way that women shop. We are intrigued by the concept of Le Tote and excited to reach a new customer.
