ROMANTIC DINNER FOR TWO

What to wear: Classic Dress +on-trend capelet

Getting reservations is an easy task compared to the dressing-the-part bit. A strappy body con feels effortlessly special. Layer with a capelet then finish your look with statement earrings and a smoky eye.

AFTER HOURS COCKTAILS

What to wear: Jeans + statement top

Getting that perfect desk-to-date outfit is not easy, especially on V-Day. Pull out your trusty black skinny pants and a statement top (think a striking jewel tone). Add a belt to cinch the waist. Now ditch your tote for a fun clutch.

FLIRTY FIRST V-DAY

What to wear: Pop of color + comfy heels

Struggling to find that perfect first Valentine’s Day date outfit? We say, go big or go home! Turn on the charm with a hot pink bow dress. All you need then is a pair of black heels. Pick a pair that’s comfy — in case you find yourself on a dance floor later in the night!

WHERE TO WEAR:

  • Trick Dog, a converted warehouse serving craft cocktails and eclectic small plates is one of San Francisco’s hottest hangouts and date spots. Local Guide Lorna Diwa says “I love how the menu changes — not just the cocktails themselves, but the theme and how everything is presented.”
  • The Dabney is a can’t-miss. Chef Jeremiah Langhorne serves Mid-Atlantic cuisine at this rustic spot set in a former row house in Washington, DC. Local Guide Ethan Rinks vouches for the menu. “The ingredients are top-notch on this well-executed menu,” he says.
  • If you’re in Boston, look no further than Parla, a speakeasy-inspired eatery. It offers Italian small plates and custom cocktails with an emphasis on whiskey. Local Guide Brianna Allard says the atmosphere is amazing. “It’s adorable with a great vibe and cool music and I’ll go back again.”
