Fashion month is one of our favorites at the Le Tote office. Runway to real way, trends take over our lives during these four weeks. New York to Paris via London and Milan we travel the fabulous world of all things fashionable. We sifted through the trends of New York Fashion Week and asked four fashion bloggers to recreate the looks. Here is the magic they made:
#1 Jaclyn Ram of My View In Heels
Runway trends: Bell sleeve blouse & Striped skirt inspired by Michael Kors & Victoria Beckham
“This bell sleeve blouse paired nicely with a pencil skirt. I added a suede jacket to complete the look and be completely appropriate for a high profile business meeting. The striped pencil skirt was one of my favorite pieces. I love a good pencil skirt and paired it with a cowl neck sleeveless top and my go-to leather sleeve jacket.”
Runway trends: Tweed jacket, orange bag & flower earrings inspired by Tomas Maier, Tory Burch & Rodarte
“This beautiful pink tweed jacket inspired me to keep the color flowing and pair it with a cutout pink top. I kept it more business casual with black jeans, so once you remove the jacket, you have a super cute outfit for drinks after work. These darling flower Le Tote earrings went perfectly with this jacket. Orange is definitely on trend and I loved this zipper bag to really pop with my outfit. I love this look for a casual day out and about, or stopping for a drink on a patio!”

Don’t be afraid to put your own personality into an outfit. You don’t have to wear exactly what everyone else is wearing — your personal style makes you unique!
#2 Caity Shreve of Moi Centre La Vie
Runway trends: Metallic cocktail dress, Duster cardigan & wrap dress inspired by Tory Burch, Hugo Boss & DvF
“A little shimmer goes a long way on Girls Night Out, and this flirty number begged to be paired with an over-the-top faux fur coat & layered baubles, for a glam nighttime look. Maxi cardigans are a must in San Francisco’s unpredictable weather and this chic, easy-to-style piece paired with jeans and bold graphic tee is the perfect combination for whatever your weekend holds. Wrap dresses are a staple in my work wardrobe and I love this weekend-ready version in a bold black & white print. With classic black pumps, a red lip, and a colorful clutch, you’re ready for anything from brunch to a cocktail party.”
Runway trends: Blue clutch bag & statement necklace inspired by Lacoste & Monse
“For someone whose wardrobe is predominantly black & white, colorful accessories are a vital part of my styling process. This blue beauty is fun, versatile pick — not only is the color eye-catching, but a sneaky shoulder strap lets it double as a clutch or a cross body bag. The easiest way to take a look to the next level is by adding a piece of statement jewelry. Whether you’re spicing up a jeans & t-shirt or a little black dress, a beautiful necklace is guaranteed to draw the eye.”

What about fashion month do you love most?
While I’m not a trend-watcher, I adore seeing the new & exciting styles that designers come out with. Their creativity and innovation always blow me away. From the wearable & envy-inducing designs of more relatable brands like DVF, Kate Spade, Rachel Zoe & Milly, to the pure drama and artistry of design houses like Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Balmain & Miu Miu. It’s pure art and Fashion Week is like a trip to the MET!
What are some of your fave shows this season?
New York Fashion Week blew me away this year. I love all the Fashion Weeks, but New York was especially amazing this season. Carolina Herrera & Michael Kors were two of the highlights though. Pure elegance and poise. Classic silhouettes, with a subtle retro vibe, and divine outerwear. I could see myself wearing virtually every piece from those collections, and for me, that’s the hallmark of a successful show.
Which is your fave current spring trend?
Stripes, stripes, stripes! They’re timeless and come back around in a fun, different way almost every season. From mixing & matching florals and stripes, to chambray and denim renditions, to boldly striped accessories — there’s always a flattering new way to work them into your look.
Finally, your tip to dress like a fashion blogger?
Confidence! Honestly, it doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, so long as YOU feel amazing. Find a way to make the look yours, give it your own personal twist, and rock it — no one will be able to take their eyes off of you!
#3 Grace Montgomery of Schmatta Style
Street style trends: Striped sweater & floral printed blouse
“This Le Tote sweater was so comfortable, it was cozy, very soft and dynamic and I love grey because it’s a color you can always wear no matter what. I also loved the printed blouse and I can see it become a staple for work! I paired it with a Zadig & Voltaire green army jacket to add a bit of edge and Joie bell bottom jeans — a good look for business casual.”

Street style trends: Cape & link bracelet
“This capelet is so on trend right now — it was so fun creating an outfit based on that staple, I feel like everyone can pull off a capelet! It’s so chic! The bracelets were also very cute and they reminded me of my own David Yurman bracelets!”

What about fashion month do you love most?
I love the idea of being able to see the trend forecasting, seeing what is on the runway and anticipating for the next season is amazing for me, it gives me a leg up on what to look for.
What are some of your fave shows this season?
My favorite show at New York Fashion Week Rebecca Minkoff, her clothing blew me away! At Paris Fashion Week, I was so so in love with Balmain — how fresh and young it is. I also was blown away by everything Valentino — florals, frills, so girly. DREAMY!
Which is your fave current spring trend?
White flowy dresses, an amazingly rad leather jacket and booties paired with the perfect bag and my Dior so real sunnies!
Finally, your tip to dress like a fashion blogger?
Mix in edgy, mix metals, break the rules, even if you have sophisticated style, it’s worth trying every aspect of style, like street style, fancy, chic, simplistic, etc. Never be afraid to go outside of the box to find your perfect pieces and mix it up!
#4 Jennifer Cao of Its Jenz Life
Street style trends: Statement skirt, light jacket, gray car coat
“The faux suede skirt is fab for going out to brunch with the girls, or a date with your partner. I wore it with a white crop to let the skirt shine. The lightweight bomber jacket is my favorite piece and finally, I love how effortlessly chic the coat is. All I need is jeggings and a crop top for a polished casual look.”
Street style trends: Fringe handbag & blanket scarf
“This fringe handbag and the dual-toned scarf are perfect to wear with any outfit! They are neutral and make a statement — all at once.”
Q&A with Jennifer (@itsjenzlife)
What about fashion month do you love most?
I love the inspiration — both on the runway and off it on the streets. And I love trend spotting and how I can interpret those trends.
What are some of your fave shows this season?
Ralph Lauren, DKNY and Michael Kors because of how simple yet chic the shows were. I also loved Oscar de la Renta’s gowns.
Which is your fave current spring trend?
Off-the-shoulder tops, lace-up sandals/heels for that bad-ass feel. I also love fringe. Adding fringe really makes the outfit more playful and gives it that movement and texture.
