MEET THE PANELISTS

Alexandra Spunt is Head of Creative at Everlane, and Co-author of No More Dirty Looks. Previously she served as Content Director at American Apparel for five years.

Laura Compton is the Style section editor at The San Francisco Chronicle. She has worked as an editor and writer for various incarnations of the award-winning Sunday Style section since 2009, and has headed the section since 2013. Laura has covered San Francisco’s independent design and retail scene since 1998, as well as twice covering New York Fashion Week for Hearst Newspapers.

Ruth Hartman has been with Le Tote since November 2014 and brings 20+ years of in-depth practical operating expertise. Ruth started her career at Henri Bendel in New York. She moved to San Francisco to join the merchandising team at Macy’s where she was responsible for $1B in revenue in branded and private brand categories including apparel, accessories, and footwear. Prior to Le Tote, she spent 5 years at DSW where she oversaw the $1.2B women’s footwear business — generating sales increases and profit each year.  While at DSW, she collaborated on omni-channel strategies and developed an overall knowledge of e-commerce.  Ruth sat on the senior leadership team at both Macy’s and DSW.

Megan Papay studied costume design at the University of Virginia and began her career in fashion in the celebrity styling department of Calvin Klein. After CK she joined one of the top fashion PR firms in New York, then left to start her own collection of accessories. Her line quickly got picked up by Henri Bendel and other luxury retailers across the US. in 2005 she moved to San Francisco and began her career in footwear design.

Cristina Palomo-Nelson comes from one of the largest shoe making families in Central America. She grew up in the factories, waiting for the perfect opportunity to launch her own line. She studied footwear construction and design at the highly acclaimed Ars Sutoria in Milan and got her masters in fashion at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Natalia Borecka is the Editor In Chief of Lone Wolf Magazine. Lone Wolf Magazine is an internationally distributed print fashion publication that caters to artists, business women, and creative dreamers. Brittany Mohr is a Partner Manager at Pinterest. Brittany is a digital advertising and marketing professional with particular passion for all things mobile. With nine years experience with consumer lifestyle brands her primary industries of expertise include: multichannel retail, ecommerce, food and beverage, sports and consumer technology.
