With the leaves turning and sweater-weather approaching, the urge to nest is creeping in. So we sat down with our Stylist Toshiko, who gave us the inside scoop on how to spruce up your living space, at an affordable cost!
My coffee table is a repurposed piece from Craigslist! It was an not-so-pretty brown wooden coffee table that I got for $10! I sanded it and painted it off-white!
Awesome furniture and decor pieces don’t need to cost $$$, check out garage sales and thrift stores and sometimes you just may hit the jackpot! I was looking around for the longest time (we are talking years) for a vintage peacock wicker chair… the only ones I see are in pricey antique shops or new ones at Anthropologie, for hundreds of dollars. I was about to give up until I found one at an old lady’s garage sale… for $25! It was one of the happiest day of my life! JK, maybe not.
I needed something to fill the giant white wall behind my couch so I painted an abstract piece myself.
I have a love/hate relationship with Ikea, like most people do. But to make it a little more unique, I filled my 8-cubby Ikea shelf with cute Kate Spade storage boxes!
This is a no brainer but plants can really brighten up a space!
