Style Share of the Week!

Our Stills Sweater has never looked more edgy!

Our Stills Sweater has never looked more edgy or chic!

When we first reached out to Bernadette about being Style Share of the week, we were expecting an edgy, fun woman— what we got was so much more. This girl is a stylist, data administrator, and…drum roll please…a published author! The capabilities of the ladies in the LT community never cease to amaze us.

I’ve been such a fan of Le Tote since becoming a member back in gosh, 2013 I believe. Time sure does fly!

Q: What is your favorite LT piece?

A: It has to be the Feathered Azuli Necklace. I ended up keeping. I wear it all the time, it’s such a striking accessory that adds a lot to my personal style.

Q: What’s the most exciting thing you have done while wearing LT?

A: That’s hard to pin-down. I’ve taken Le Tote pieces on vacation to Colorado, and to the beach. I’ve worn LT to Major League baseball games, to brunch, to work (okay that’s not really exciting at all), and of course featured LT on my blog Outfits Not Just Clothes. I think the most rewarding thing I’ve done wearing LT, is when I took a year off of shopping. I relied heavily on Le Tote to keep my wardrobe fresh, and fun, and keep me out of a style rut.

Q: It sounds like you try to keep busy. What do you do for a living?

A: My grownup job is working as a Database Administrator for the University of Pittsburgh’s Development Office. On the side I am a freelance writer and copy editor. I also have a very small side business of personal shopping and closet cleaning, I also have my daily style blog, and I recently had a short collection of poetry published, from Flutter Press entitled “Trestling“. So, needless to say I have a lot of irons in the fire.

Q: What’s your passion?

A: I’m sure people who read my blog and are acquainted with me would say “fashion” is my passion. But, for me “fashion” is a business, an industry, and at its highest level, an art form. My true passion is personal style, creativity, and expression, whether that take the form of a nuanced outfit, a piece of writing, or an informed and unique outlook on life. So, individual expression and creativity is my passion.

Q: Where do you get your style inspiration from?

A: For me style inspiration comes form everywhere…. other blogs, magazines, catalogs/lookbooks, street style photos, dragqueens. movies and TV shows across the board— anything from Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, to Funny Face, to Mad Men, to the Netflix show Peaker Blinders. As well as music icons like Blondie, or style mavens like Jenna Lyons, or strong women like Mindy Kaling. And of course, things I see out and about in my city and my Mother.

Q: If you could ask LT one question, what would it be?

A: Only one… Well the one most readily on my mind is, have you considered expanding into maternity wear? I have several friends expecting, and I’m hoping to add to my own family here soon, and to have maternity clothing available to add to one’s wardrobe would be such a #lifehack. When I took a year off shopping, as I mentioned above, Le Tote was my savior! While I was saving money, and paying down debt, I was still able to experiment with new pieces and change up my look. To have that same resource during some of the more style challenging months of a woman’s life would be awesome!

All I’m going to say is, stay tuned for a Post-Mother’s Day announcement from LT about this very thing!
